What's the Pay-Off?
Leaders we have worked with often ask this question:
"Will the pay-off be sufficient to justify the investment of time and money in doing self-discovery and self-leadership
work?"
Our response to this important question is: "WisdomWorkers
will help you explore and discover yourself and your leadership needs, and then support you as you work to apply your new
learning to your leadership work, but ultimately the pay-off depends upon your commitment and ability to make needed changes
in how you lead."
In looking at this pay-off
issue, it helps to bear in mind the words of the Greek philosopher Socrates, who said at his trial for heresy: “The
unexamined life is not worth living.” Socrates was of course on trial for encouraging his students to challenge
the accepted beliefs of the time and think for themselves. In our experience with leaders, self-examination and
discovery are valuable in their own right, and valuable as a basis for developing one's future leadership skills.
WisdomWorkers will help you
examine your life and leadership work with honesty and then help you identify how you can become a more authentic and
creative leader.
How might you judge the pay-off from your self-discovery
and leadership work? This pay-off could include the following leadership development outcomes:
-
Greater self-awareness and knowledge.
-
Greater authenticity, integrity and honesty.
-
Increased trust.
-
Enhanced personal creativity.
-
Leadership habit awareness (both good and bad).
-
New skills in authentic and creative leadership.
-
New skills in humanistic leadership.
-
New skills in empowering leadership.
- New skills in collaborative leadership.
- New skills in leading in an uncertain environment.
